One of These Nights – The Consummation

Aubrey went to the stereo and searched the CDs.  She put in the Eagles, Crosby, Stills and Nash and a few others she found she set it to shuffle.  She went to the couch laid out the paraphernalia and got to wrapping a joint.  When she heard the door, she looked up and smiled at him.  He gave her a lazy smile wandered over to the couch and took a seat next to her.  They smoked the joint, then he placed a hand at the back of her head tangled his fingers in her hair and kissed her long and slow.  There was none of the urgency that he’d shown earlier.

When he’d turned her to jelly he led her to the bedroom where he took his time getting them naked.  She smiled as she looked him over arching a brow when her eyes rested on his weapon. With all her experience *that* was the largest “gun” she’d seen.  She’d never been with a guy when it had been this laid back and she wasn’t quite sure what to do with it.  They explored each other, taking their time, hands and mouths exploring the landscape of each other’s body.  He entered her as she lay on her stomach, filling her fully.  She grabbed the headboard and gasped, he moved with excruciating slowness driving her closer and closer to the edge of sanity.  This was the last thing she’d expected from him.  She had expected the passion but not the laid-back intimacy or the almost tenderness with which he touched her.  She *had* expected rough dirty even painful. As surprised as she was, she wasn’t.  There was no less passion in the easy way he took her.  It was so at odds with what she thought she knew.  His hand moving over her arm brought her focus back to him.  He took her hand and turned her over, lacing his fingers through hers, took her chin in his other hand and claimed her mouth again.  His hand moved lower and brought her even more pleasure.  The hand he held squeezed his as he finally allowed her the release she so desperately sought, his came shortly after with a long low growl.  Hers exploded out of her in a cry of ecstasy that she’d never heard come out of her before.  As pure in its rawness as what they’d just done, she blinked in surprise and smiled at him.   He collapsed on top of her as he kissed her so searingly it felt like a brand burning her lips, claiming them as his as well as her body.

He rolled off her and pulled her against his side, she pushed up and reached over him lighting two cigarettes and handing him one.  She grabbed the ashtray and placed it on his chest, then moved back into his side, as his arm came up and around her shoulders she knew she’d found the best of all worlds.

His Reserve a Quiet Defense – The Wee Hours

Two a.m. found Sorrow pulling out of his driveway and heading for the highway.  He had a pile of books and notebooks on the seat next to him and couldn’t believe he was making an 11 hour road trip at a moment’s notice like this.  But it had been years since he’d done anything like it and figured the drive would probably be good for him; clean out some cobwebs, sweep away old, stagnant ideas and maybe inspire some new ones.  Anguish called him from Aubrey’s some time around dawn, telling him they’d meet up at the diner and not even Morose knew he was coming.

After leaving the Rock the night before, the guys had gone home with their women and made the most of the rest of the hours before sunrise.

More Than a Feeling – Part 2

Boys:
<Samuel hits the joint, hands it to Aubrey> Why especially now?

Girls:
<Aubrey takes the joint and hits it, hands it back to him> Because I’m gonna be closing the club alone *and* living alone in a not so good area of town.
Girls:
<Aubrey shrugs> Gotta protect myself and the club.

Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Darlin’, the only guns in this town are in the bars and out on the farms. It’s not exactly a thrivin’ inner city. The club, on the other hand, I can understand. <looks at her> And you’re right. You are gonna be closin’. So, Maybe while I’m teachin’ you to shoot, I’ll come by and make sure you get out all right. You have a piece already or you need to pick one up?

Girls:
<Aubrey looks at Samuel> I’ll get one. But I’m thinkin’ me taking the managers position was to give you and Bree a break. You comin’ to walk me out.. isn’t a break.

Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> “While I’m teachin’ you to shoot”. <looks at her> How long you expectin’ that to be? Because I’m figurin’ no more than a week.

Girls:
<Aubrey nods> All right.

Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> I’m not gonna force it down your throat, darlin’. You don’t want me there, I won’t be there.

Girls:
<Aubrey shakes her head> It isn’t that.. I just don’t want things to get sticky for you.

Boys:
<Samuel arches a brow, smiles> What? You think my woman’s gonna start thinkin’ I’m dippin’ into the labor pool or somethin’?

Girls:
<Aubrey smiles> Probably not.. but the rest of the town might.
