You Better Let Somebody Love You – David and Taryn’s Wedding in Leesburg, the Day After Samuel’s Friends Leave

Boys:
<everyone pulls up in front of the house, everyone with bikes on bikes because it’s probably going to be one of the last rides before the weather gets too cold>
Girls:
<Aunt Jamie comes out onto the porch to meet them hearing the motorcycles>
Boys:
<the boys get off their bikes, David takes Taryn’s hand and heads to the porch where he kisses Aunt Jamie on the cheek> Hey, you.
Boys:
<Uncle Bill comes out right behind Jamie, grabs Taryn in a bear hug that would probably break lesser beings in half>
Girls:
<Saige and Sangria climb off their bikes, Taryn laughs and hugs Bill back> Hi Uncle Bill. <Jamie smiles> Hey Sugar.
Boys:
<the other boys get off their bikes and out of their cars and head toward the porch>
Boys:
<Samuel gets off his bike, wearing a duster and lights a cigarette, hanging back with Aiden who’s watching the scene play out on the porch>
Girls:
<The girls follow and Saige smiles at Bill> I see I’ve been replaced. <sighs dramatically>
Girls:
<Bree and Heather hang back with Samuel, Aiden and Ava>
Girls:
<Jamie looks at Bill, grins> Let the child go before you break her.
Boys:
<Bill smiles at Saige> Only while she’s single. <lets Taryn go and hugs David just as fiercely>
Boys:
<David laughs, hugging him back briefly before pushing away> Okay, okay. Damn.
Girls:
<Jamie looks at Taryn, smiles then hugs her too>
Boys:
<Uncle Bill grins at Taryn when he hugs Saige> You know, there’s still time for us to run off before the preacher gets here.

Girls:
<Jamie looks at David, shakes her head, smiling> I can’t believe it. I just can’t believe it.
Boys:
<David smiles at Jamie> That’s a good “I can’t believe it”, right?
Boys:
<the other boys take their turns hugging Jamie and shaking Bill’s hand>
Girls:
<Taryn laughs and looks at Bill> Oh.. Uncle Bill.. If you were forty years younger and didn’t have Jamie…You might give him a run for his money.
Girls:
<Jamie nods to David> It is. A very good one.
Boys:
<Uncle Bill laughs> Girl… my age just means I have that much more experience where it counts.
Boys:
<David nods> All right, then.
Girls:
<Taryn shakes her head, smiles> I don’t think I can handle all that experience.
Boys:
<David looks at Uncle Bill> Quality over quantity, Uncle Bill. I might’ve been around fewer blocks then you, but they were all the right blocks.
Girls:
<Jamie throws herself into David, hugging him tightly>
Boys:
<Uncle Bill laughs, nods> That’s what all the pus say, boy. <heads into the house> Come on. It’s cold out here.
Boys:
<David hugs Jamie back just as tightly>
Girls:
<Jamie smiles, whispers> The minister’s comin’ after lunch.
Boys:
<David smiles> The sooner, the better.
Girls:
<Jamie looks past David spotting Aiden’s hair, and sees Samuel, smiles at him, looks at David, smiles> He comin’ in or gonna hang out here all day?
Boys:
<Aiden takes Samuel’s cigarette and hits it before giving it back to him, watching the others on the porch, quietly> Black sheep, huh? Wanna light one up before we take this on?
Boys:
<David looks over toward Samuel, looks back at Jamie> It’s been a rough week all the way around.
Boys:
<Samuel nods to Aiden who turns his back to the porch and pulls out a joint for the five of them to share before going inside>
Girls:
<Jamie nods> All right <looks at everyone> You all go on in. I’ll wait him out. <smiles> Food’s on in about 20. I made fried chicken. <grins> It’s a celebration after all.
Boys:
<David, quietly to Jamie as the others go inside> Guy with the red hair, his best friend Aiden. Little blonde with him is his wife, Ava. They got married the day before yesterday. The other blond is.. I guess a friend with benefits.. Heather. And the redhead is Bree. One of Samuel’s ex’s. They don’t get on so well.
Girls:
<Jamie nods> All right. <smiles> I’ve got this. It’s your day. <the girls head in and head to the kitchen>
Girls:
<Jamie smiles> So we’re celebratin’ two weddings? Totally cool.
Boys:
<David looks at Jamie, smiles> There’s more.. Samuel and another friend, Silver, bought the G-Spot together and Samuel bought thirty acres next door to us. Last week he bought a foundation stallion.
Boys:
<David smiles again, whispers> Probably best not to worry about where the money came from.
Girls:
<Jamie nods> I wouldn’t dream of it. <Smiles again> David, I’m really happy for you.
Boys:
<David smiles more broadly> You were right. She’s my future.
Girls:
<Jamie smiles> Every now and then I get one. <kisses his cheek loudly> It’s going to be great.
Boys:
<David nods> I don’t doubt it. I’m gonna go find her before Uncle Bill convinces her to run off with him.
Boys:
<David heads inside>
Girls:
<Jamie laughs, heads down the porch steps toward Samuel with a single minded purpose>
Boys:
<Aiden hits the joint and passes it off to Samuel who looks over and sees Jamie coming, hits it long and hard and passes it off to one of the girls>
Boys:
<Aiden looks over and watches Jamie approach>
Girls:
<Jamie walks right up to Samuel and gives him a tight, fierce hug> I’m glad you came.
Boys:
<Samuel hugs her back, reluctantly> Yeah, well.. Taryn wasn’t givin’ me much of a choice.
Boys:
<Samuel lets her go, nods toward the others> This is Aiden, Heather, Ava and Bree. <looks at them> This is Jamie.
Boys:
<Aiden nods> How’s it goin’?
Girls:
<Jamie looks at them all> Nice to meet you all. <smiles at Aiden and Ava> I understand that there’s another wedding we’re celebratin’?
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> We’re not celebratin’ shit but David and Taryn today. Me and Ava already had our day. And we’re plannin’ on takin’ a few more on our way home.
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Ava> And Ava’s sister’s gonna make us do even more when we get back.
Girls:
<Jamie smiles> All right. <looks at Aiden> Well, in any case congratulations. <looks at Samuel> We’re havin’ Fried chicken with the trimmin’s for lunch and it’s on in about 10.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles, shakes his head> You been talkin’ to Taryn?
Boys:
<Aiden laughs, smiles at Ava> This week has been more fried chicken than I’ve had my entire life.
Girls:
<Jamie shakes her head> No. I haven’t I do fried chicken the third Sunday of every month. <smiles> Always have.
Boys:
<Aiden takes the joint back from whoever has it, offers it to Jamie> You smoke?
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Then I guess we’ve just got good timing.
Girls:
<Jamie nods> Sometimes. <takes the joint and hits it, holds it and passes it back to Aiden, exhales> Good stuff.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles, nods> I got a good supplier. Grows the shit herself. Can grow fuckin’ *anything*.
Girls:
<Jamies looks at Samuel> Yes you do. <smiles again, looks back at Aiden> And I always thought it was the seeds.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Ava> Only Aiden would offer a joint to a parental figure.
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Samuel> What? She’s gotta deal with us today. That alone earns her a hit.
Girls:
<Bree and Heather watch, Ava smiles at Aiden as she speaks to Samuel> Yes he would. <squeezes Aiden’s hand>
Girls:
<Jamie looks at Samuel> Do not let Tommy get a hold of that stuff.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Jamie> Yes, ma’am.
Boys:
<with no hint of animosity of facetiousness whatsoever>
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Samuel, blinks>
Girls:
<Jamie smiles> C’mon, I’ve got food to put on, and you guys look like you need a drink. All of you. <looks at Aiden, smiles brighter> Offer some of that to Bill.. you might get a new customer.
Boys:
<Samuel nods to Jamie, Aiden smiles and also without any hint of animosity or facetiousness says> Yes, ma’am.
Girls:
<Jamie smiles drapes an arm around Samuel> Heard you’re givin’ Taryn away. <looks over at him> Heard a lot more too.
Boys:
<Samuel puts his arm around her as they start toward the house> Told ya about the shotgun, did he?
Boys:
<Aiden looks at the girls, arches a brow, smiles, whispers> So.. they *didn’t* find him under a cabbage leaf. Who’da thunk it?
Girls:
<Jamie stops blinks> No.. No he didn’t.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Then I guess it’s a good thing I mentioned it before I brought it in.
Girls:
<Heather laughs> I was thinkin’ garbage pail. you know where they found the rest of us.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> Nah. He just got dropped in one later.
Girls:
<Jamie bursts out laughing> You’re gonna give her away with the shot gun aimed at David aren’t you?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Jamie> Darlin’, I don’t aim at anyone I’m not plannin’ to shoot.
Girls:
<Bree smiles at Aiden> That’s just.. <laughs> Oh my god.
Girls:
<Ava laughs>
Girls:
<Jamie smiles and starts walking again>
Boys:
<Aiden heads in after Jamie and Samuel>
Boys:
<Samuel, to Jamie was they walk> So what else did you hear?
Girls:
<Jamie shrugs> A little of this and that…you bought some land and a horse?
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Ayup. He’s a good lookin’ horse, too. A Morgan. Got Baroque features.
Girls:
<Jamie smiles> That’s the curly ears right?
Boys:
<Aiden walks up next to them with Ava, looks over at Jamie> He’s been trainin’ Saige’s horse too. And by that.. I mean he’s been trainin’ Saige.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> That’s the one. Tapered muzzle.
Girls:
<Jamie looks over at Aiden, smiles> I imagine he’s needed a crop with that one.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles broadly> Not yet. Hasn’t even managed to get her pants off.
Girls:
<Jamie looks back at Samuel> Those are some nice lookin’ beasts. <blinks> You feelin’ okay?
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> I’m feelin’ fine.
Boys:
<Aiden laughs when Jamie says “beasts”> We’re talkin’ bout horses again, right?
Girls:
<Ava laughs> He was almost there once and Aiden c..made her think.
Girls:
<Jamie smiles> Yes.. we are.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles at Ava, mouths “nice”>
Girls:
<Ava shrugs and smiles>
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Jamie, smiles> I don’t fare so well with the ones that take a minute to think shit through.
Girls:
<Heather smiles> He’s got me.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles at Jamie> ‘Nuff said.
Girls:
<Jamie looks at Heather, smiles> That’s good enough for me.
Boys:
<Samuel looks over at Heather, smiles>
Girls:
<Heather takes Samuel’s hand and smiles brightly>
Girls:
<Heather looks at Jamie> Saige can take a fuckin’ number.
Boys:
<Aiden laughs, nods> Let’s see her compete with that.
Girls:
<Jamie blinks> Okay then. <looks at Samuel> And possessive too.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Jamie, smiles> We got a good thing goin’.
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Ava, whispers> When the hell did *that* happen? <referring to the possessive bit>
Girls:
<Jamie nods>
Girls:
<Ava looks at Aiden, whispers> Hell if I know. She was headed back to the Falls at the end of the week.
Boys:
<Aiden arches a brow, whispers> Think she’s just bein’ protective?
Girls:
<Ava shrugs> I have no clue. Probably. But you know how Heather is.
Boys:
<Aiden looks over at Heather, to Ava> Or maybe it was that discussion we had with David and Taryn about Matoaka.
Girls:
<Ava nods> Maybe. <softly> Or maybe she just doesn’t want to Saige to get too close.
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Ava, smiles, whispers> True, but you know how Heather likes to take “sexual healing” to a whole new level.
Girls:
<Ava laughs, whispers> True.. A little sexual therapy never hurt anyone.
Boys:
<Aiden laughs, whispers> You should know. It always worked on me.
Girls:
<Ava smiles, softly> Some of that was self preservation. <grins playfully>
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> No one has self preservation instincts quite like yours, baby.
Boys:
<they head inside to find everyone scattered around the living room with drinks and talking>
