The Truth You Might Be Runnin’ From – The Local Girls Get Schooled, Taryn Feeds the Troops, Taryn and Samuel Talk About Saige

Girls:
<Saige sat on the fence, while Achilles stood in front of her, she whispered soothingly to him> I’m sorry, big guy. I’m here now. <she rubbed her hand over his neck>
Boys:
<Samuel heads to the ring with Silver after not finding Achilles in his stall, smoking a cigarette on the way>
Girls:
<Silver looks over at Samuel, smiles> I hate you for making me get up before the sun.

Boys:
<Samuel looks over at her, smiles> Darlin’, I’m not exactly a fan either. I haven’t been up *this* early before comin’ here in *years*.
Girls:
<Silver laughs softly> So what the hell are we doin’?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles again> Earnin’ our keep.
Girls:
<Saige jumps into the ring and walks Achilles around it>
Girls:
<Silver nods still smiling> You gonna be okay here?
Boys:
<Samuel shrugs, takes a drag> Long as I got the horses to keep me company and I can get laid once in a while, it might not be *total* hell.
Girls:
<Silver smiles> You need to get laid.. you call.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles, nods> Count on it.
Girls:
<Silver laughs> I will.
Boys:
<Samuel flicks his cigarette, walks up to the fence, hops over it and crosses the distance to Achilles, takes him by the bridle, pulling him to a stop, rubs his nose> Mornin’.
Girls:
<Saige looks at Samuel> Yeah.. mornin’. Why’re you stoppin’ me. I’m warmin’ him up.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her, smiles> I was talkin’ to him. <unhooks the reins, lays them over the fence, clips the lead rope to his bridle>
Girls:
<Silver climbs on the fence watching>
Girls:
<Saige shakes her head, holds back a shitty response>
Boys:
<Samuel unrolls the rope, looks at her, hands her the end of it> You wanna do this right, go stand in the center.
Girls:
<Saige takes the rope and goes to the center of the ring>
Boys:
<Samuel watches her go, turns his attention back to Achilles, slips his fingers into his mouth, quietly in that voice of his> We’re gonna take care of this too. <removes the bit, strokes his nose again> You’re not gonna be needin’ that, are ya, big guy?
Boys:
<Samuel grabs the reins off the fence, walks back toward Silver, looks over at Saige> They don’t like the bits, so we’re gonna try and use ’em as little as we can.
Girls:
<Saige nods>
Girls:
<Silver watches Samuel walk toward her>
Boys:
<Samuel walks over to Silver, trades her the reins and bit for the whip he gave her to carry, whispers> She doesn’t like me much.
Girls:
<Silver smiles> She’s good at the silent treatment. <smiles brighter> You gonna force her to talk to you?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Do I look like I wanna listen to her runnin’ her mouth at me?
Girls:
<Silver smiles> No But she could very well end up being your sister in law.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> More than likely. <walks back over to Saige with the whip in his hand> I’m guessin’ you know your way around one of these.
Girls:
<Saige takes the whip and cracks it> Yeah.
Boys:
<Achilles’ eyes widen, his ears flatten and he jumps forward, moving his ass trying to get away from the whip >
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Saige, arches a brow>

Girls:
<Saige looks at Achilles> Sorry.. that wasn’t meant for you. <tilts her head toward Samuel> Him maybe.
Boys:
<Samuel smirks> Nice job. You ever stop to think about what you’re doin’?
Girls:
<Saige just looks at her, the muscle in his Jaw working>

Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> The *only* time you do that around a horse is when you wanna get him movin’. <looks at her> Near his rear. *Never* make contact with the animal’s hide.
Girls:
<Saige growls> I’ve *never* hit an animal. With *anything*.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> No. You just ignore ’em. All you have to do right now is stand here and let him go around a while. Use the whip when nothin’ else works. And when you fuck up.. you don’t just stand here and go “sorry”. Horse’s need a gentle touch. Their confidence built. They’re more sensitive than you think. A harsh word will make a less headstrong horse doubt himself.
Boys:
<Samuel shrugs> And a horse that doubts himself can become a problem.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> You ever try that approach with people?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Saige> You mean when I’m not tryin’ to get my dick wet?
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> Did I say that?
Boys:
<Samuel nods to Achilles> Pay attention to what he’s doin’. And I hope you checked his hooves for stones and shit before you brought him out here. <walks back over to the fence>
Girls:
<Saige mutters> Asshole. <watches Achilles>
Boys:
<Samuel climbs up on the fence, sits, watching Achilles>
Girls:
<Silver looks at Samuel> You think he’s safe out there with her.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Silver> Honestly? I wouldn’t trust her to remember to feed Harley. But she’s had him a while and he’s still here to bitch about it.
Girls:
<Silver nods> So this is you trying to get her involved with her horse?
Boys:
<Samuel nods> She won’t give him up and she won’t give him the time of day til she needs him. Leaves most of it to her sister.
Girls:
<Silver frowns> So *why* does she have him?
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> Fuck if I know. Sentimental reasons I guess. <looks over at Saige> I figure if she spends enough time with him, maybe she’ll realize he’s more than just a dumb animal. Get invested. Start seein’ him for what he is.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Silver> Stop takin’ him for granted.
Girls:
<Silver nods> She’s kinda … selfish huh?
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Ayup.
Girls:
<Silver smiles> Kind of a bitch.
Boys:
<Samuel looks back toward Saige> And totally self centered. <nods> She’s a bitch on wheels.
Girls:
<Silver looks at him> And you like her.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> Why in the fuck would you think that?
Girls:
<Silver looks at him> Because the last girl I saw you get like this about you liked.
Girls:
<Silver shrugs> And I mean like.. not have a thing for.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> And which girl was that?
Girls:
<Silver looks at him> Ava…Dee…<smiles> Me.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> And not one of you was full of yourselves. Dee was only selfish sometimes. And I’m thinkin’, if that’s who you’re measurin’ her against, “have a thing for” is exactly what you mean. I like her sister just fine and *she* doesn’t piss me off just walkin’ into a room.
Girls:
< Silver smiles> You forgot Ava.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Ava isn’t either of those things.

Girls:
<Silver nods> But in the beginning you hated her too.

Boys:
<Samuel nods> Because she pussified Aiden. Made him soft.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> And look how *that* turned out.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> First time I saw *this* girl.. she walked up on my porch while I had a shotgun trained on her and asked if I wanted to put holes in “that body”.
Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> Christ.
Boys:
<Samuel nods, lights another cigarette, looks at her, smiles> Even you know better to say some shit like that to a man who doesn’t lower his weapon after seein’ “that body”.
Girls:
<Silver nods> But I’ve also been around the block a few more times then I’m guessin’ she has.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> With boys that have been around a few more blocks then the boys around here.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> Thing is.. she can’t or won’t admit when she’s in over her head.
Girls:
<Silver nods> Exactly. She’s used to these boys. <looks at him>Can’t. It’s a weakness.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> I understand not bein’ able to admit it to anyone else. But you gotta at least be able to admit to yourself. Otherwise, how you gonna get past it?
Girls:
<Silver looks at him> You can’t. But the only way to get her there is for her to get in over her head in a situation she can’t get out of without admitting it.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> That’s not gonna happen anytime soon, darlin’.
Girls:
<Silver shrugs> It could.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> She’s got too many people willin’ to fix things for her. And a daddy to take care of everything else.
Boys:
<Samuel smirks> And what they can’t.. she can buy her way out of.

Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> Talk to Daddy and her sister. Tell them what’s goin’ on. I’m betting none of them see it.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> Not my Kool Aid, darlin’.
Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> Ava wasn’t either… <blinks> Wait.. why is she like that?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> But Aiden was. Why is she like what?
Girls:
<Silver looks over at the horse> Why can’t she admit she’s in over her head?
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> Fuck if I know. Too proud. <looks over at Achilles> Figures she’s *more* than enough woman for one man, sometimes two. Told me *that* shit straight up.
Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> Yeah. Okay. Here’s the thing.. a girl with confidence doesn’t *need* to tell guys that. The guys already know.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> And I already know she’s not nearly as confident as she plays off and everyone thinks.
Girls:
<Silver nods> Something or someone shook her confidence and I’ll bet you money *that’s* partly responsible for her ignoring the horse. It takes confidence to ride. To be in control of an animal that size.
Boys:
<Samuel takes a drag, nods> Taryn said she dropped Achilles like a bad habit when she got involved with an old boyfriend and got herself a bike.
Girls:
<Silver nods> So what was this ex like.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> I don’t know. He was in some kind of bike gang. Got himself killed ridin’.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Crotch rockets.
Girls:
<Silver looks at him> So what if this guy is who undermined her confidence.
Boys:
<Samuel shrugs> Wouldn’t surprise me. <looks back at Saige and Achilles> If nothin’ else, maybe gettin’ back to her horse will help her with that. <shakes his head> That little girl doesn’t know shit about men, Sil. She just thinks she does.
Girls:
<Silver nods> So help her with it.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> To what purpose?
Girls:
<Silver smiles> It’ll gain you big points with the sister… and *maybe* get you in her pants.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> She’s got a man. And when Aiden made his little speech, she dropped me like a bad habit. Just like she did to that horse.
Girls:
<Silver nods> So? That shit’s never stopped you before.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Those girls were different. They came from the same place. <looks at her> They weren’t just lookin’ to get another notch in their bed post before they moved on to Aiden.
Boys:
<Samuel shrugs> They weren’t into it just to satisfy their curiosity about how the other half lives.
Girls:
<Silver looks at Saige> I don’t think she is either.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> Darlin’, you met her man last night. Look at him and look at me and then say that shit again.
Girls:
<Silver looks back at him> Babe.. a girl like that doesn’t stay pissed at you if she doesn’t care.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> She does if you keep pissin’ her off.
Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> So stop pissin’ her off and see what happens.
Boys:
<Samuel takes another drag> There’s no point. I give a fuck. <looks at her> And here’s somethin’ you didn’t hear yet… Aiden wasn’t here but a few hours before she nailed *him*.
Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> Whore.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> At the ball park while we were hittin’ balls.
Girls:
<Silver looks at him> Has she always been a whore.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> Accordin’ to the rumors, it started when her ex died. And apparently, from what everyone’s been sayin’, it stopped last night with Aiden’s little speech.
Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> So something in his speech struck a note with her.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> He told her grudge fucks weren’t about revenge. They were about feelin’ like you were worth somethin’ to someone because you’re not worth anything to the one who left you. <looks at her> Told her he figured that out because of Nay.
Girls:
<Silver nods> Damn.. So she was trying to feel like she was worth something.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> That’s what it sounds like.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> Guess she found it.
Girls:
<Silver shakes her head> Maybe.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her curiously> What do you mean?
Girls:
<Silver looks at him> I mean.. something that’s that deep isn’t just brushed aside with one little speech.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Guess we’ll see what we see.
Girls:
<Silver nods> I guess.
Boys:
<Samuel looks over at Saige> It took me longer to get a bead on her than most people.
Girls:
<Silver nods> Are you sure you’ve got it?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> I’m thinkin’ I’ve got the best I can. <looks at her> But most of what I’ve got I figured out from her horse. Not so much her.
Girls:
<Silver nods and frowns>
Boys:
<Samuel nods> And speakin’ of the horse.. we’re gonna be trainin’ him to prance like a Tennessee Walker.
Girls:
<Silver smiles> Awesome.
Boys:
<Samuel takes another drag> Taryn says she runs barrells with him. I’m thinkin’ about roundin’ him out. <looks at her> Calf ropin’, heelin’, shit like that. Make him an all around horse.
Girls:
<Silver smiles> And what about Saige. what if she says no.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> She won’t. She’ll be too… surprised, I guess, by what he’s capable of. <looks at her> And the more she realizes he’s capable of, the more she’ll start to see him for what he really is.
Girls:
<Silver smiles> He gonna bite me if I walk over there?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Could.  Just treat him like any attention-starved man, though, and you should be fine.
Boys:
<Samuel laughs> Hell.. there’s probably a bigger risk *she’ll* bite you.
Girls:
<Silver walks over to Saige, takes the rope and watches as Saige blinks and heads over toward Samuel, Silver starts winding the rope bringing Achilles closer to her>
Boys:
<Samuel takes a drag, watching Silver and Saige>
Girls:
<Saige walks over and leans against the fence watching Silver>
Girls:
<Silver brings him close to her and murmurs softly to him, rubbing his neck, pulls herself onto his back>
Boys:
<Samuel watches Saige out of the corner of his eye while he watches Silver>
Girls:
<Saige rubs the inside corners of her eyes with one hand and her neck with the other as she watches Silver bring Achilles to a trot in the ring>
Boys:
<Samuel takes a drag, turns his attention to Silver, smiles> Work him good, baby.
Girls:
<Silver tightens her thighs around his back and her grip in his mane and lets him gallop, while Saige watches chewing her bottom lip>
Boys:
<Samuel, his eyes on Silver, to Saige> That girl knows her way around men *and* horses.
Boys:
<Samuel looks over at her> She could probably teach you a hell of a lot more than I could.
Girls:
<Silver’s laughter rings through the air>
Girls:
<Saige shakes her head> I don’t know. I’m not saying she couldn’t.. but she’s leaving in a few days.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Then I guess you better get what you can out of her while she’s here.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> So you’re gonna abandon us?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> What are you talkin’ about?
Girls:
< Saige shakes her head> Nothin’. <looks back over at Silver>

Boys:
<Samuel watches her for a second> “Abandon” is a pretty strong word, darlin’. Not that you’d miss me or anything, but I didn’t say I was goin’ anywhere.
Girls:
<Saige keeps her eyes on the horse> Most people don’t. One day they’re just …gone.
Boys:
<Samuel nods, looks over at Silver and the horse> And sometimes they come back that way, too.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her, quietly> You can’t do that to that horse, darlin’. You don’t leave him and he won’t leave you til the day he dies. I can promise you that.
Girls:
< Saige shakes her head> I can’t do what to him. I’m not the one walking away.
Boys:
<Samuel arches a brow> I’m not walkin’ anywhere, Saige. And I’m talkin’ about ignoring him. That’s the same as leavin’ him.

Girls:
<Saige nods> I’m not.

Boys:
<Samuel gives her a long look, nods, looks back at Silver and Achilles>

Girls:
<Saige sighs softly> I know I’m a shit owner.
Boys:
<Samuel takes a long drag, shakes his head> I’m not thinkin’ that.
Girls:
<Saige looks over at the horse and rider as they sail over the fence> No? What are you thinking?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> I’m thinkin’ you’re scared.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> Of what?
Boys:
<Samuel flicks his ashes on the ground, watches them> Bein’ left behind again. <looks at her> And I’m thinkin’ if I really think about it.. some of your pullin’ away started when Aiden made that crack about my exit plan.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> Every one leaves. It’s a fact of life. The leave and don’t come back. For whatever reason they can’t come back. <Shrugs> Sometimes you get the chance to say goodbye but most of the time you don’t. <looks at the horse> Sometimes you even thank god they’re gone. Just so you can breathe.

Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head, looks back at Silver and Achilles> Sometimes, they come back, darlin’. Problem is.. when they do, things aren’t like they used to be and you end up wishin’ they’d never bothered.
Girls:
<Saige quietly> Who’re you talking about?
Boys:
<Samuel shrugs> No one in particular.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> Come on.. that’s something you learn from experience.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> And I got a lot of that.
Girls:
<Saige softly> So which one taught you that.
Boys:
<Samuel takes another drag> My mother, for one. Couple of women. Watchin’ Jace and Deelia, Aiden and Ava. Not *all* the experience I have is my own. Some of it’s just shit I learned from watchin’ other people. <looks at her> One thing I *do* know for sure is if you don’t expect too much from other people, they’re not as likely to disappoint you. And if you don’t get to thinkin’ too highly of yourself, it won’t be so hard to understand when they don’t either. <shrugs> Fact is.. if you meant as much as you think you did, they’d stay, right? So, if they don’t.. what does it mean?
Girls:
<Saige quietly> You don’t matter. .. you’re not worth anything.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> So.. you got two choices. Prove ’em wrong or leave ’em before they can leave you. <shrugs> Or three. Just don’t let ’em close to begin with.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him, softly> Is that what you do.. shut people out?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> Most people aren’t worth the effort, darlin’.
Girls:
<Saige nods> Taryn was?

Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> Taryn don’t give you much of a choice.
Girls:
<Saige smiles> No I guess she doesn’t.
Boys:
<Samuel takes another drag, looks over at her> So who was it? Who made you this way?
Girls:
<Saige shrugs> Justin. My parents.
Boys:
<Samuel nods>
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> Our parents had taken Taryn out of town for a horse show.. I didn’t want to go. Tar and I had gotten into a fight over something stupid. I was being stubborn and so they left me here to tend the horses. Most of the ranch hands went with them. Taryn was at the show and our parents decided to go to the next town over for a quiet dinner, their car went off the side of a mountain. <looks down> it exploded. <softly> The last thing I said to them was that I hated them. <looks at him> Justin laid his bike down after we had an ugly fight.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> And you think it was your fault?
Girls:
<Saige shakes her head> No. There were other things with Justin that <quietly> I wasn’t so.. sorry when he left.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> You feel guilty about that?
Girls:
<Saige nods> A little. When he walked out the door and said he wasn’t coming back I was glad he was going that time. He’d done it before and always came back. The last time he came back things were really bad.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> Darlin’, you been shitty with me off and on for the past two days and I ain’t even been shot at. <looks at her> As for bein’ glad he was goin’… if he wasn’t worth keepin’, he’s not worth feelin’ guilty over.

Girls:
<Saige looks at him> I’m sorry.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> For what?
Girls:
<Saige quietly> For being shitty with you.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head, takes a drag and looks over at Silver and the horse> I’m not an easy man, darlin’. I know that much. I don’t aim to be. And I don’t aim to make it easy for people to get all up in my shit.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> I want to though. Get to know you.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> We got nothin’ but time, darlin’. Looks like we’re gonna be stuck with each other for a while.
Girls:
<Saige nods and smiles> Yeah we are.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Then all you gotta do is *take* the time.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him, quietly> I am.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> All right, then.
Girls:
<Saige looks at Achilles> So what do I have to do?
Boys:
<Samuel looks over at Achilles> With him?
Girls:
<Saige nods>
Boys:
<Samuel takes another drag, drops the cigarette, looks down at it as he crushes it out with his boot> You gotta be there for him. Encourage him when he does good. Horses are sensitive to the tone of our voices. It doesn’t take much to let ’em know you’re mad at ’em. <shrugs, hooks his thumbs through his belt loops, looks over at Achilles> Mostly, you gotta be patient.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him, nods> Help me?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> But you gotta understand they’re intelligent. They know more about what’s goin’ on than we realize. And they can do damn near anything as long as you keep their limitations in mind. And their bodies are more fraglie than they look. If there’s something they can run through themselves, they’re gonna do it. <nods> I was plannin’ on it.
Boys:
<Samuel looksback at Achilles> When I was workin’ the rodeo, one of the broncos slammed into the gate while he was tryin’ to throw his rider. First round. The impact knocked him to the ground and he died right there.
Girls:
<Saige blinks> Fuck.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> And if there’s *anything* in the pasture that he can impale himself on.. donuts to dollars he will. <looks at her> Wanna know how much cowboys love their horses?
Girls:
<Saige nods> Yes.
Boys:
<Samuel looks back at Achilles> When that horse died.. there wasn’t a man in the place that was so hard he didn’t find himself a little wet in the eyes. The entire audience was more upset about that horse dyin’ than they’d’ve been if it’d had been the rider. And the rider held onto him and cried like a baby.
Girls:
<Saige slowly blinks, her own eyes stinging with tears> Wow.
Boys:
<Samuel nods>
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head, quietly> They’re not just animals, Saige.  They’re our friends.  Sometimes, they’re the only friends we’ve got.
Girls:
<Saige nods, softly> I get it.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> I’m not tellin’ you that to harp on you about Achilles, darlin’. His name was Midnight and he was black as coal. When he hit the gate, it busted my leg in three places. When he fell, he went down right on it.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head, looks ahead> I didn’t even feel it. He was only five years old.
Girls:
<Saige softly> I’m sorry. I know you weren’t harping on me. <closes her eyes> Why do I feel like everything I say to you is wrong?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> Considerin’ all you’ve been hearin’ for the past two days is people harpin’ on you about Achilles, I’m thinkin’ it wasn’t all that unreasonable.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him> Is that why you’re drawn to Achilles?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Maybe I’m just drawn to him because it pisses you off.
Girls:
<Saige arches her brow> IS that all. <smiles> Well then you may ride him whenever you chose.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles again> You just had to take all the fun right out of it, didn’t ya?
Girls:
<Saige laughs> Oh I’m sure you’ll find something else. <shrugs> But if you like I can rescind the offer.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head> Don’t waste the time. Taryn’s determined I need a horse now. <looks at her> And if I’ve learned nothin’ else about that girl, it’s what a pain in the ass she is about shit when she’s determined. So, I guess I’ll be lookin’ around when we go to the stock show.
Girls:
<Saige looks at him, smiles> Do you know where I found your dog this morning?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Where?
Girls:
<Saige smiles> Sleeping in the stable.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Doesn’t surprise me. Should probably train him to guard the herd or some shit while I’m at it. Or at least make sure the gates are shut.
Girls:
<Saige smiles> I fed him. He likes left over Chinese food.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Darlin’, that dog likes everything. Particularly the shit that’s bad for him.
Girls:
<Saige grins and shrugs> Well it was beef and broccoli so you might want to keep him out for a while but I did warm it.
Boys:
<Samuel shakes his head, smiles again> You did that shit on purpose.
Girls:
<Saige blinks and looks at him all innocent> What shit?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> The shit you were hopin’ would end up all over my floor if not just the gas that’d fill the apartment.
Girls:
<Saige smiles> Sweetheart, if I did it on purpose I wouldn’t have told you I did it.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Darlin’, you’re only tellin’ me now because you’re feelin’ all warm and fuzzy toward me.
Girls:
<Saige smiles> I’m tellin’ you now because of the toxic green cloud I see comin’ through the field.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles again, shakes his head> You might wanna check the time, baby girl. <pushes away from the fence and heads for the gate> You’ve got a dance class to get to.
Girls:
<Saige looks at the time> Shit. <looks over at Samuel> Are we done?
Boys:
<Samuel opens the gate, looks back at her> I’ll rub Achilles down and set him out in the field. If you want and you don’t have other plans, we can see about startin’ his trainin’ after lunch or dinner.
Girls:
<Saige nods> All right.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> We’ll see ya later, then. <heads toward Silver and the horse>
Girls:
<Saige nods and runs for her bike>
Girls:
<Silver pulls Achilles to a stop>
Boys:
<Samuel walks over, looks up at her> How’s he doin’?
Girls:
<Silver smiles> He’s great. Rides like a dream.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> We kinda let the time get away from us.
Girls:
<Silver looks at him as she swings a leg over to slide off the horse> So what are we doin’ now?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her, smiles> Now, we’re gonna rub him down and set him out in the field.
Boys:
<Samuel shrugs> Unless you wanna ride him some more.
Girls:
<Silver smiles> Only if you ride with me.
