The Truth You Might Be Runnin’ From – Barracuda Edition, Genja Makes His Move on Kendra, Makes an Impression

Boys:
< a black 1971 Hemi Barracuda with chrome accents and illegally dark window tint pulls up in front of the main house, the engine rumbling low and deep, the car goes quiet and the door opens and a tall man with a shock of short black hair, pale skin and equally pale silvery eyes gets out. He’s wearing heavy boots, black pinstriped tight fitting pants, a black silk shirt unbuttoned to the third button underneath a dark purple vest with a diamond pattern, the shirt untucked beneath it and a long black leather trench topping it all off, closes the car door and takes a look around>
Boys:
<Aiden, Samuel and Conrad come out of the apartment over the barn and head up to the main house hearing the car>
Girls:
<Taryn hears the car pull up and heads to the front door opens it seeing the stranger in her yard>
Girls:
<Ava smiles and whispers> Stop…let’s see what she does. <seeing Taryn>
Boys:
<Genja has a square jaw and a wide chin, his mouth is small but his lips full and adorned with a single silver ring in the center of his lower lip, his features aren’t wide, they’re small but proportioned to his face and his eyebrows arch naturally but not harshly, he wears several silver rings on each hand, his nails are painted black, looks over at Taryn when she walks out onto the porch>
Boys:
<The boys nod and stop, watch Taryn and Genja>

Girls:
<Taryn walks to the edge of the porch puts her hands on her hips, arches a brow, smiles softly> Can I help you?
Boys:
<Genja takes a drag of the cigarette he’s holding, flicks the ashes, smiles> I’m Genja. I assume this place is yours.
Girls:
<Taryn nods> It is. Are you lost?
Boys:
<Genja looks her over like he’s sizing her up> I believe, when someone tells you their name, the polite response is to tell them yours. <raises his eyes back to hers>
Girls:
<Taryn smiles> It is. You’re right… I’m Taryn. <shakes her head> Most people don’t make it out this far.
Boys:
<Genja nods> Thank you. In response to your question, no, I’m not lost. I’m looking for Aiden.
Girls:
<Taryn looks over at the car> And most people don’t show up here in a 71 ‘cuda. <smiles> He’s in the apartment with Samuel and probably Rad and Ava. I’ll walk you over.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn, smiles> They would if they could afford it.
Girls:
<Taryn nods> Well there is that. Around here though it’s usually horse trailers.
Boys:
<Genja nods, looks around> So I’ve noticed.
Girls:
<Taryn walks down the steps to meet him> The barn’s this way.
Boys:
<Genja looks back at her> Now that you mention it.. are you the one Aiden spoke about regarding Vanner foals?
Girls:
<Taryn smiles> Yes. I am. I thought we were meeting you at the stock show.
Boys:
<Genja nods, pulls out his wallet, thumbs through it, pulls out a business card and hands it to her> You’ll want to speak to my cousin, Katiana. This is her card. I don’t usually deal with the horses.
Girls:
<Taryn takes the card> Thank you. I’ll be sure to find her tomorrow at the show.
Boys:
<Genja nods>
Boys:
<Samuel smiles at Ava> Not a flinch.
Girls:
<Ava nods> Yet. He’s still being polite. And other then her one slip with her name she’s been fairly polite.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> We’ll see how long it lasts.
Girls:
<Ava nods and smiles>
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> I don’t know. She can be pretty ballsy.
Girls:
<Ava looks at Aiden> She can?
Boys:
<Conrad nods> What *I* wanna see is how *Saige* handles it. I have a feeling *she’s* not gonna be nearly as polite.
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Ava> She got shitty with Samuel in Matoaka.
Girls:
<Ava nods> Seriously. <looks at Aiden> Taryn? <laughs> Really?
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Sure as shit. Come on. I doubt Genja wants to deal with the smell of horse shit longer than he has to.
Boys:
<Conrad nods> Seriously. <heads toward Genja and Taryn with Samuel>
Boys:
<Aiden takes Ava’s hand and follows>
Girls:
<Ava walks with Aiden>
Girls:
<Taryn looks over at the others approaching them> Guess we don’t have to go that far.
Boys:
<Genja looks over at Ava and the boys walk up, Aiden smiles> Glad you could make it.
Girls:
<Ava smiles> Hey.
Boys:
<Genja nods> I wouldn’t miss this for the world. Now why don’t you tell me why the hell I’m here. <nods to Ava, smiles> And where the hell are my strippers?
Boys:
<Conrad smiles> The girls are hanging out with the band. Apparently, Bree’s gonna be singing with them tomorrow night.
Boys:
<Genja nods> Who came down?
Boys:
<Aiden puts his arm around Ava> Ava, Bree, Silver, Kendra and Heather.
Boys:
<Genja nods>
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Genja> Taryn’s my brother’s girlfriend.
Girls:
<Ava smiles at Genja> Dee and Chloe have the club.
Boys:
<Genja nods to Ava, looks at Samuel> And I’m going to be meeting him right?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Of course.
Boys:
<Genja smiles> Good. *That* should be interesting. Hard to imagine you with a brother.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Hard for me to imagine it, too, some days.
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Genja>
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn>
Boys:
<Genja takes a drag of his cigarette, looks back at the others>
Boys:
<Conrad smiles> And suddenly.. silence.
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Aiden> So you brought him here to meet David?
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Taryn, smiles> Yeah, of course.
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Samuel> Of course.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn> We’re the closest thing Samuel’s had to a real family for years. I think it’s only appropriate, don’t you?
Boys:
<Samuel nods slightly to Taryn>
Girls:
<Taryn looks at up at Genja> I do. I guess. <looks at Aiden> Some warning would have been nice.
Boys:
<Genja looks at aiden, smiles, to Taryn’s> Aiden’s never been very good with social etiquette.
Boys:
<Aiden nods to Taryn> Sorry, babe. I wasn’t thinkin’.
Girls:
<Taryn arches her brow>
Girls:
<Ava smiles>
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn> Conrad’s the most diplomatic and socially adept of the the three of them.
Boys:
<Conrad smiles> In other words, I’m the one with the conscience.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Conrad> You’re the one with the best upbringing.
Girls:
<Taryn adopts a hick accent> He’s lucky ’round these parts people shoot first and ask questions later. <looks at Genja, smiles, dropping the accent> Good to know.

Boys:
<Samuel looks at Taryn, arches a brow>
Girls:
<Taryn smiles at Samuel> No I wasn’t makin’ fun of your accent.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn> Don’t do that again or *I* may have to shoot you.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Oh, I didn’t think you were.
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Genja, quietly> Don’t threaten me.
Boys:
<Genja smiles> I don’t make threats.
Boys:
<Conrad looks at Taryn> Taryn.. Genja is the one we were telling you about.
Girls:
<Taryn nods> And I don’t give warnings.
Boys:
<Genja smiles> I’ll try not to piss myself in fear when you’re around.
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Conrad, blinks> Oh. <looks back at Genja, arches her brow>
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Ava> And she said she was the one that *wouldn’t* end up losing her tongue.
Boys:
<Conrad smiles at Taryn> Genja also prefers ranged weapons of the more discreet kind.
Girls:
<Ava smiles> She hasn’t lost it yet.

Boys:
<Aiden nods> It wasn’t lookin’ good for a couple of seconds, though.
Girls:
<Taryn nods> Knives, stars <smiles> Got it.
Boys:
<Genja nods, looks back at the others> Well. This *is* going to be interesting.
Girls:
<Ava smiles softly> Someone walks on to your property and says not to do something or they might have to shoot you.. what do you do?
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Conrad, smiles> I kinda prefer hand to hand.
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Ava, whispers> *After* I’ve found out what his business is and he’s a friend of someone around?
Boys:
<Conrad smiles> Yeah. Don’t we all.
Girls:
<Ava nods, quietly> She was still in defense mode.
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Genja> Oh I don’t know.. our little town is pretty boring. <smiles> Unless you count the bar fights usually started by David and Loch.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn> Boring isn’t always a bad thing.
Boys:
<Conrad looks at Genja> In other news, Aiden and Ava are back together and he’s getting her a ring this time.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Rad, looks at Aiden> It’s about time. Tell Kat that shit.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> I’ll text her later. I don’t think I’m goin’ to the stock show. Figured I’d leave that up to the people that actually like that kinda thing.
Girls:
<Ava looks at Genja> Did you bring Besnik down for the show?
Boys:
<Genja nods to Ava> We brought all three of them simply because we don’t know which one of the little bastard’s fathered who.
Girls:
<Ava looks at Taryn> Besnik is pure black and hateful.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn> Catalan, Katiana’s horse, is pure white, which, if you know a bit about Vanner’s, you know is rare.
Boys:
<Genja smiles> And Besnik is mine.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> While Yoska is completely different. Especially if you’re a woman.
Girls:
<Taryn smiles and nods> I do.. Does that explain his orneriness?

Boys:
<Genja takes another drag, smiling around his cigarette> No. His.. “orneriness” explains why he’s mine.
Girls:
<Taryn looks Samuel> Sounds like Achilles and Adonis.
Girls:
<Taryn nods and smiles at Genja> So you picked him because he was evil and never did anything about it?
Boys:
<Samuel nods to Taryn> Besnik has a god complex. <smiles at Genja> Which he comes by honestly.
Boys:
<Genja looks at her> He’s not evil to me and barely anyone else can get near him. I’m fine with that.
Boys:
<Conrad smiles at Taryn> And he bites. Besnik. And sometimes Genja, too.
Girls:
<Taryn smiles> I will keep that in mind. <looks at Genja>
Boys:
<Genja smiles, takes another drag of his cigarette>
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Genja> We were gettin’ ready to head out to the bar. Me and Ava’ll ride with you so we can catch you up to speed.
Boys:
<Genja nods> All right.
Girls:
<Ava nods>
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Samuel and Rad> Guess that puts me with you guys. Unless you all are riding with them?
Boys:
<Samuel looks at Taryn> We’ll take Aiden’s car.
Boys:
<Rad nods> We don’t do a lot of riding together.
Girls:
<Ava looks at Taryn> Don’t you drive?
Girls:
<Taryn nods> I do.. I just usually ride my bike or walk.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Ava> Oh, that’s precious.
Boys:
<Conrad smiles but doesn’t say anything>
Boys:
<Genja smiles> I wonder if she has a secret fetish for being tied up, too.
Girls:
<Taryn arches her brow at Genja> No I don’t. I actually prefer the spanking benches.
Boys:
<Genja look at Taryn, smiles again> It’s always the quiet ones.
Girls:
<Taryn looks at Genja blinks and blushes drops her head, looks over Samuel, quietly>Just kill me now.
Boys:
<Samuel laughs> You walked into that one all by yourself, darlin’.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Ava> All she’s missing is the red hair and big blue eyes.
Girls:
<Ava laughs> Right.
Girls:
<Taryn shakes her head> Christ.
Boys:
<Genja looks at Taryn> Why don’t we get going before I actually start imagining you bent over a spanking bench.
Boys:
<Genja smiles> And liking it.

Girls:
<Taryn blushes again> Never happen.
Boys:
<Genja nods> That’s what they all say.
Boys:
<Conrad smiles at Taryn> So.. about that trip to the bar…
Girls:
<Taryn nods> Lead on…
Boys:
<Aiden tosses Samuel his keys, Samuel grabs them and heads for the car>
Boys:
<Conrad nods, heads after Samuel>
Girls:
<Taryn takes off with them>
Boys:
<Genja watches them go> *This* is going to be fun.
Boys:
<Aiden nods> Yeah, it is. <looks at Genja> Now let’s talk about Saige.
Boys:
<Genja looks at them> Tell me in the car.
Girls:
<Ava nods> All right.. but it might take longer than the trip.
Boys:
<Genja nods> I’d still rather talk in the car. <looks around> At least there I know who’s listening.
Girls:
<Ava nods> All right.. I gotta tell you though.. out here the only thing listening are the horses. It’s so quiet at night you can’t sleep.
Boys:
<Genja nods, walks toward the car> You’re not losing your mind yet?
Girls:
<Ava smiles> No.. but only because I’m still doing lessons twice a day.
Boys:
<Aiden nods, walks with him> It’s not that bad but I couldn’t live here.
Girls:
<Ava falls in between them>
Boys:
<Genja nods> Am I going to end up shooting someone in a back alley before this is over?
Girls:
<Ava laughs> Saige maybe.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> Those are pretty good odds, actually.
Girls:
<Ava smiles> He’ll either shoot her or fuck her.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> She has a better chance of gettin’ his bullet in her than his cock.
Boys:
<Genja looks over at them> All right.. what’s the deal with this girl?
Girls:
<Ava looks at Genja> Let’s start with Aiden was in town for 10 minutes and she was fucking him in the back of the chevelle.

Boys:
<Aiden nods> And move on to, Samuel’s pissed about it even though he’s not sayin’ much.
Boys:
<Genja stops and looks at them> Why the hell would *he* care?
Boys:
<Aiden smiles> Well, now, that’s the million dollar question.
Girls:
<Ava smiles> You left out the good part.
Boys:
<Aiden smiles at Ava> I just haven’t gotten there yet.
Girls:
<Ava smiles> Oh.. okay.
Boys:
<Genja arches a brow> And *that’s* why this conversation’s going to take all night. What’s the good part?
Boys:
<Aiden looks at Genja> All right.. here’s what’s goin’ down.. <fills him in>
Boys:
<Genja finishes his cigarette while he processes the information, drops it on the ground and crushes it out with his boot, nods> All right. <smiles> Let’s see what we can do to shake things up a bit.
Girls:
<Ava smiles> You got a plan?
Boys:
<Genja looks at Ava> I just plan to be myself.
Girls:
<Ava smiles> Cool… Oh.. and you should know her boyfriend is a porn actor and she made a film with him and the other guy Seth.
Boys:
<Genja smiles> Fucking perfect. <shakes his head> Get in the car. <walks around and gets in the driver’s side>
Girls:
<Ava climbs in the car>
Boys:
<Aiden gets in after her and they head to the bar>
