Love Can Endure – Samuel and Bree Visit Mom, Bridges Rebuilt

Girls:
<Bree looks at him> You know I never pictured you as a barn dweller.
Boys:
<Samuel looks over at her> I don’t even know how to respond to that.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Want I should build a shack on the edge of the lake?
Girls:
<Bree smiles> That’s not what I meant. I just never saw you doing the horse thing and being all…cowboy. <shrugs> I know I should’ve. <looks over at him> But seeing you here and with Spirit.. it’s obvious that you belong here.
Boys:
<Samuel arches a brow> “Belong” here? With *these* people? Did we *meet* the same people?
Girls:
<Bree laughs> I didn’t mean with the people.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> The horses.

Girls:
<Bree nods> and the land.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> So, what’s your reason? Why’d you decide to stay?
Girls:
<Bree shrugs> I didn’t have anything holding me in Darkness Falls. And The opportunity to manage the club was pretty attractive.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> All right, then. <gets out of the truck>
Girls:
<Bree climbs out of the truck and looks at him, grins playfully> You know.. you could always have a two bedroom built and I could pay you rent.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her, smiles> Darlin’, I *am* havin’ a two bedroom built. You ain’t seen the plans, have you?
Girls:
<Bree smiles> No I haven’t. <laughs>
Boys:
<Samuel nods, starts toward the barn> Come on, then. I’ll show ’em to ya.
Girls:
<Bree follows him> Is it something like this?
Boys:
<Samuel nods, heading up the stairs and into the apartment> A lot like it. Just a little smaller. Four stalls instead of eight, plus the wash and tack.
Girls:
<Bree watches Samuel’s ass as she climbs the stairs behind him> I haven’t seen a lot of barns but this is…genius.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> It’s the first barn I ever saw like this too, baby girl. Couldn’t even get my head around it at first. <walks over to the desk and pulls out the plans, carries them to the dining table and lays them out for her> Take a look.
Girls:
<Bree walks over and looks at them> Oh.. wow I like it.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> I coulda gone with the whole house *and* barn bit, but I don’t really see myself in a big ass house. All that space, yanno? And it’s half the price to do it this way.
Girls:
<Bree nods> Well yeah.. and it’s all right there. <smiles>
Boys:
<Samuel nods> And I can always build another, bigger one on the space where a house would normally go later if I need to.
Girls:
<Bree smiles> Yes you can.. if you find you need that much space.. or you can add another barn.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Another barn like this is what I was talkin’ about, but yeah. You been over to that property yet?
Girls:
<Bree shakes her head> No.. I haven’t really left this one… except to check out the woods.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> They’re startin’ work on the barn this mornin’. I was gonna drive over and take a look.
Girls:
<Bree smiles> Can I go with you?
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Why not? We can do it after we get done at the hospital.
Girls:
<Bree nods> All right. <looks at him, quietly> Will you.. can I.. do you think I could maybe.. <sighs>
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her> Spit it out, darlin’.
Girls:
<Bree shrugs> I was wonderin’ if you’d help me get near them.
Boys:
<Samuel arches a brow> The horses?
Girls:
<Bree nods> Please.
Boys:
<Samuel looks at her curiously> You afraid of ’em?
Girls:
<Bree shrugs> I’ve never been around them.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> All right. We’ll see what we can do about that then.
Girls:
<Bree smiles> I was putterin’ around the property and found the barn the babies are in.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Yeah? What’d you think about *them*?
Girls:
<Bree looks at him> If you tell anyone I said this.. I’ll lose my shit…but.. Oh my *god* they’re so *cute*.
Boys:
<Samuel laughs> Fifty grand worth of cute, baby girl. <Smiles> And that’s ten grand cheaper than Kat coulda gotten for ’em. Where my Morgan would normally go for around ten if the market were what it should be.
Girls:
<Bree blinks> Holy shit. That’s more then I make in a *year*.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> I know. And they’re worth every goddamn penny.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> Just wait. Six months from now… they’re gonna be *beautiful*.
Girls:
<Bree looks at him> Spirit’s nothin’ to sneeze at. He’s gorgeous.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> There’s a lot more to Spirit and his breed than meets the eye.
Girls:
<Bree smiles> And he seems well named.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> Breeders name the foals. When they register ’em, if you’re buyin’, you can request a name but it’s up to them if they do it or not.
Girls:
<Bree smiles> I like watching them run.
Boys:
<Samuel smiles> He reminds me of someone, but I can’t peg who. <nods> Me, too. <rolls up the plans> Why don’t you get ready so we can get goin’?
Girls:
<Bree nods> All right.. I’ll be back in a few.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> All right.
Boys:
I’ll meet you at the truck.
Girls:
<Bree nods> All right give me 15? <smiles> Thank you.
Boys:
<Samuel nods> No problem.
Girls:
<Bree turns and heads out of the Apartment>
